Erika Basile is the Director of Research Ethics and Compliance at Western University, where she provides strategic leadership for research ethics, compliance, and institutional oversight. With more than 18 years of experience in academic and research environments, she supports researchers, staff, and committees in navigating complex ethical and regulatory requirements. Erika has extensive expertise in research governance, organizational effectiveness, process improvement, and partnership development. She serves on national research ethics and compliance initiatives, supporting efforts to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of research ethics review and oversight across Canada. Erika holds a Master of Professional Education (Educational Leadership) and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Cell Biology.
