Marilyn Sapsford

Manager, National Programs, Ovarian Cancer Canada

Marilyn Sapsford has worked for Ovarian Cancer Canada for 13 years, currently as the Manager of National Programs.  In addition to managing and developing support programs and resources, a new program in development is to engage patient partners in ovarian cancer clinical trial research through the $10 million OvCAN project funded through the 2019 Federal Budget.

Marilyn was also a co-investigator in a research study seeking to understand the experiences of family members caring for a loved one with advanced ovarian cancer. This research was published in the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing in October 2018.

Diagnosed with stage 1 clear cell ovarian cancer in 2002, Marilyn is an ovarian cancer survivor, now 17 years cancer free.   She has a background in social services and business management and has been on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations.
