Dr. John Wallenburg
Chief Scientific Officer, Cystic Fibrosis Canada
Dr. John Wallenburg joined Cystic Fibrosis Canada as Chief Scientific Officer in March 2015 after 25 years at the interface of invention and commercialization. At the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research he helped establish the commercialization program and served on the boards of two OICR start-ups. While at McGill University in the early 2000’s John led Life Sciences at the Office of Technology Transfer, served as a reviewer for CIHR’s Proof of Principle program review committee, and was a member of the Intellectual Property and Data Release Group of the International Hap Map Project. He’s been a product manager and a research scientist and in 1996 co-founded Morphogenesis, Inc., a biotechnology company in Florida. John is also a CF parent.
