Critical Care Physician and Researcher, Scarborough Health Network

Dr. Yarnell is a critical care physician and researcher from the Scarborough Health Network in Toronto, Canada. He completed an undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Princeton University followed by medical training and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto, and is now an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. At the Scarborough Health Network, he holds the Northpine Professorship in Critical Care Research and leads the Critical Care Research Program, which aims to help the patients of Scarborough be represented in the data that guide their care. He believes that pragmatic randomized controlled trials embedded in clinical care are an essential tool for a true learning health system, and is trying to demonstrate this as principal investigator of the ongoing MAGNOLIA randomized controlled trial.
