Lisa Goos

Chief Operating Officer, CANTRAIN

Dr. Lisa Goos has over 20 years’ experience in research administration, knowledge translation and education in academic health science settings. An exceptional corporate change agent, Lisa has driven development in the strategic and functional capacity necessary to optimize success in clinical research. She has developed both corporate and divisional strategic plans, led teams through the completion of large strategic projects, and implemented operational systems and procedures to support the effective management of the research enterprise.

Dr. Goos received her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from York University, and was a CIHR Postdoctoral Fellow in the Program in Neurosciences and Mental Health at The Hospital for Sick Children. Over the course of her career, Lisa has facilitated research integration and scientific literacy across healthcare, legal and academic settings.  She has held senior research administration positions at Baycrest Health Sciences, the Rotman Research Institute and the Hospital for Sick Children. With over 10 years’ experience teaching students at secondary and post-secondary levels, Lisa has also provided scientific communications expertise to organizations such as the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto and the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at the Hospital for Sick Children, and is co-author of an authoritative manual on the use of DNA evidence in the judicial system.  Lisa joined the CANTRAIN team in 2023 and brings her experience in clinical research, teaching and operational management to this ground-breaking endeavour.
