Karen Dunlop

CEO, Research Manitoba

Karen is the current CEO of Research Manitoba, the provincial research agency in Manitoba responsible for promoting, coordinating, supporting, and funding research excellence and fostering innovation in health, natural and social sciences, humanities, and engineering. She is leading the organization to embrace new opportunities including implementing a new provincial system to streamline and harmonize the processes and reviews necessary for health research called Research Improvements Through Harmonization in Manitoba (RITHIM).

Karen is a strategic leader with over 30 years of experience leading organizations at a governance and operations level to grow and transform in healthcare, professional regulation, insurance, and professional services sectors. A registered nurse with a degree in law, she holds certification in leadership, change management, governance, and executive coaching. Karen is a member of the International Federation of Coaches, Institute of Corporate Directors, and International Women’s Federation.
