Alison Orth
Unit Director, Clinical Trials BC, Michael Smith Health Research BC 

Alison is an organizational leader committed to strengthening the clinical trial ecosystem and improving the participation experience. Her diverse experience includes over 25 years of leading health research teams at community, academic and hospital sites in public and private organizations. Her previous roles include vice president of TASC Research Services and clinical research leader at Fraser Health Authority. Alison has facilitated over 80 industry and grant-funded research and evaluation studies.

Alison currently serves on several provincial, national and international committees dedicated to supporting the advancement of and engagement in clinical trials. She is a board director of the Canadian Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre and the Peace Arch Hospice Society, the chair of the N2 Clinical Trials Education and Awareness committee, a member of the ACRP’s Partners Advancing the Clinical Research Workforce, and a Leadership Council member of the Decentralized Trials and Research Alliance.
